Why I Haven't Read The Twilight Books Yet.. Or Better Not

Stephenie Meyer's Twilight books are popular enough to anyone right now especially to teenagers. I've heard a lot of readers fall in love with these books. Sometimes it gets to me what Stephenie put in her books to capture the minds and hearts of anyone who reads them. Are these books well written? Did she made a stunningly charming male
protagonist and a distressed damsel as a perfect match for a vampire-human love story? Does it have a smooth storyline? Or maybe you thought that you love them merely because they are the first ever vampire books that you've read?

I have a favorite website about books. It contains a lot of lists like Best Young Adult Books, Best Books for 20th Century, Best Books Ever, Best Book Covers, Books I Couldn't Put Down, Worst Books Ever, etc. Every time I search about a particular title of a book, the Twilight books pop out of the lists mentioned. Yes, I think the Twilight series is always present to any of these lists. In fact, it ranked number one for the Worst Books Ever. I can neither agree and negate on that. The reviews and rates of the people who read the Twilight are quite bad. Others really hate it. They said it has a lame story and as the book's sequels are supposed to get better, they become boring. There was a time that I googled if the Twilight books are worth reading. The answers to the question are the same to those reviews from the website. So, I thought that I will just waste my money and time if I will read the Twilight. Honestly, I still want to read them despite of the bad comments. I'm even searching for online sellers who sell their twilight books. A lot of them do. Does that implies that the books are not worth collecting either?

It's just that I don't like the books that people are going crazy about. Because the Twilight became a history like the Harry Potter, and one of the well known movies, it doesn't interest me that much. I'm not liking the books that are already popular before I have the chance to read them. I have these the same thoughts about the Harry Potter books before. Now, I'm currently on hiatus reading book five because I'm busy on loads of homework. I realized after reading the The Sorcerer's Stone that J.K Rowling is indeed a very good author. No wonder the Harry Potter books became a favorite. Who knows, maybe if I read the first chapter of Twilight, I will not put it down anymore until I get to the end. So, I'm still thinking about giving it a try. What do you think?
